My name is Richard Sim. I'm a first-year chemical engineer from the Imperial Valley and this summer I will be investigating the advantages of using ceramic polymer infiltration and pyrolysis. A goal of mine for this internship is to code a program that will allow for the identification of pores and air bubbles that could potentially weaken the ceramic. This internship will help me develop skills using 3-D tomography which I can then use for later 3-D modeling in my career. On my off-time, I enjoy playing games with my brother Johnathan, eating out and catching up on sleep.
